BlackBerry Support on the Horizon?
Hi everyone,
We have just started to use Harvest and so far are really impressed by the ease of use and the numerous interfaces for getting our time into Harvest.
It’s great that there are the typical first round apps for Android and iPhone, but what about BlackBerry?
When I searched the forum, there was a discussion in May of 2010(!) and you indicated back then that you would be making it easier for BlackBerry users to get their time into Harvest.
Has there been any additional discussion around this? Has interest from the community simply died down? Or is it just not the cool thing to build?
Great product and looking forward to the new year using it.
Regards,
Lance
Thanks for getting in touch! At the moment, we do not have any plans to build a Harvest app for Blackberry. Sorry I don’t have better news!
I just signed up for the 30 day free trial, but as a Blackberry user, I’m disappointed to learn that you aren’t planning to add make Harvest easily accessible on Blackberrries. That certainly will affect my decision to sign up after the trial expires.
We also have a strong BlackBerry asset deployment so we were disappointed to hear this as well.
But, on a positive note, internally we have looked at the API that Harvest provides and we have the development skills internally to look at building one.
I’d like to hear from other participants (and even from the Harvest team) on the forum – would anyone be interested in a BlackBerry client? Does Harvest get many requests to make it worth building?
@ltofsrud: Go for it! I would guess that we get a moderate amount of requests for a Blackberry app. It’s not a popular request, but it’s not unheard of either (as the above posts would suggest). As such, we have no plans to build a Blackberry app at the present time.
