Sending late reminders automatically
I am a new user to Harvest. I have read in various places that there is an automated way to send late reminders on non-paid invoices. I am trying to find out whether the time interval when these reminders is sent can be customized for my business?
I have looked at the documentation in Help and have done a search on this forum and nothing answers my question.
In the Reminders section of Invoices => Configure, it says the following:
“Send reminder messages for late invoices. You can choose to have Harvest automatically send reminders if an invoice is late for a certain number of days.” but (at least in my account) I cannot see a way of setting that up.
Can someone please explain the following:
1) Are all accounts, regardless of plan, able to send automated reminders for late invoices?
2) If so, where is it that I can set the time interval to have the reminders sent automatically?
Thanks in advance.
Hi @doublelcl!
Welcome to Harvest!
Yes, definitely. Automated reminder messages are available on all plans. You can set up an automated reminder for your invoice after you’ve sent it to your client, but before it’s past due. At that point (when the status is showing “Sent”), click on the “More actions” button and select “Reminder Email”.
You can then select to send the reminder if the invoice is X days past due, and select who to send the reminder to.
So, there is no way to create a blanket, automated method to send out late reminders for all invoices.
Oh, too bad. That is such a helpful feature of Freshbooks. I am able to set up when all my invoices are late, create a single late reminder and, away they go when a client doesn’t pay when they should.
Such a feature would be feather in your cap.
Will the reminder send after “X” days and then not again or will it send every “X” days past the due date?
Is it possible to put a negative number on this? Sometimes I’d rather send a reminder a week before the invoice is due.
