Same task- different billing rate for each staff member
How does everyone handle invoicing when each staff member bills at a different rate for the same task?
For example (we are an architecture firm), so we all use the same set of tasks for each job (client consult, working drawings, job administration, etc) but each person bills at a different rate. So, “Bill” bills $150/hour for the task “Working Drawings”, but “Jill” bills $110/hour for the same task.
Would you set up the tasks with no billing rate associated and then manually enter each rate on the invoice or would you create a duplicate set of tasks for each staff member with their rate associated with it?
To make matters more complicated, each staff member does not bill them same for each task- some are billed at higher or lower rates depending on task.
Any advice appreciated, and please ask questions if this doesn’t make sense.

Currently, Harvest does not support multiple hourly rates per person, but it is a current feature request. I’ll add your votes to the list!
Please add my vote as well. We’re an IT Consulting company, and our labor categories are just as general (Graphics Design, Developer, Architect, Project Manager, etc), but each person bills a different rate for EACH project he is associated with.
So for example, Sam the Developer may bill Client_A $90, but he may also be billing Client_B $100.

It is possible to have different rates per person on a per project basis. To do so, go to Manage > Projects and select the project that you would like to edit. Under the Invoice Method section, select This Project Is Billable and we invoice by Person Hourly Rate.
Once Person Hourly Rate is selected, you’ll be able to assign a customized rate to each person within that project. This same process can also be used for customized rates for tasks.
If you’d like to reuse the customized rates in a new project, go to Manage > Projects and click the Duplicate button to the right of the project and a new project will be created with the same rate information.

I’m adding my vote in support of a feature to specify the rate for every person, for every task; or to override a default standard rate. There are times when we need a variable person/project rate.
