Negative tax rounding
Hi everyone,
I just started using Harvest intensively and came across an issue related to negative tax rounding in invoices.
Take for instance a value of 135.00. If I use a tax of -21.5%, while issuing the invoice I get -29.02 (the full value being -29.025).
But when I see the draft of the invoice or its web version, the value shows up rounded to -29.03.
Again if I go and edit the invoice the calculated tax shows up as -29.02.
Clearly there seems to be an inconsistency here. To me, in this case, the right value here is -29.03 and this should appear throughout the application.
From what I gather, the rounding shows up correctly on the versions sent to the customers; only when editing the invoice does the value show up differently.
This may seem to be not much of an issue but, at least for us freelancers in Portugal, this is a big deal because we are just starting out issuing receipts directly from our revenue service’s website and naturally the (automatic) tax calculations there must match our invoices’. (And in our case the negative rounding is done in the same, usual way of rounding on positive numbers).
Could you please confirm this behavior?
Thanks in advance,
Luis
Luis,
Sorry about these problems. I will take a look early this week and figure out what is going on.
Luis, thank you so much for writing in about this. I have found the problem in our JavaScript and will make sure this behavior is consistent with how the rest of the application works. The fix should go out before the end of the week!
