Android App Questions
Brand new user here, evaluating alternatives to Freshbooks, so forgive me if I’m not “getting it” all yet.
Overall, I’m liking Harvest, but the Android App is driving me crazy, to the point where I feel like I’m missing something…
On the Timesheet tab, I’m seeing all of my past entries, regardless of whether they’ve been billed.
That the current task I create (timer running) is at the BOTTOM of the list, I have to scroll down through all the old entries to start/stop/edit it.
The common sense side of me is telling me that there must be a way to change the sort order (current on top, instead of on bottom) and a way to clear old items (especially those that have been invoiced), but I’m not finding any options at all, really.
What is the “Pending” tab supposed to do? I’ve gone through all kinds of tests for this evaluation (invoiced, some paid, some past due, etc., etc.), so I should have covered nearly every scenario, yet nothing is ever on the Pending tab, even after synchronization?
Any pointers on how to manage the Timesheet tab, and any explanation for the Pending tab would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks in advance!
Thanks for getting in touch! It sounds like you may have timesheet duplication turned on which copies over all entries from the previous day.
The option to turn off timesheet duplication appears once per day in the web app. You can only turn off timesheet duplication before adding any new entries to the timesheet. Once new entries are added, the option to turn it off is removed until the following day. To turn it off:
- Go to Timesheets > Time at the start of your next work day.
- On the new timesheet, click Clear All Rows And Start Fresh to turn off timesheet duplication.
By turning off timesheet duplication, you should be able to clean up your timesheet quite a bit. I hope that helps!
Thank you, Scott. Please tell me this isn’t a step I’ll have to repeat each morning . Things I completed yesterday on my time sheet (obviously?) have no bearing on today, so the natural assumption is now that I’ve done this once, it’s changed?
Also… Any hints about the “Pending” tab, which appears to do nothing.
Thanks in advance!
Correct! Once timesheet duplication is off, then it’s off until you turn it on again.
The Pending tab in our mobile apps has to do with syncing mobile data to the web server. If there is nothing listed under Pending, then you’re all synced up.
The Pending tab will typically fill with entries if your mobile happens to be offline while tracking time, and then it’ll sync and clear the Pending tab once you reconnect. I hope that helps!
