What are you working on?
Harvest Devs, can you provide us a list of what features you are working on and in which order (possibly with timeframes)?
It is very difficult to see what your current feature priorities are from the forums.
We are a little concerned that new features are coming at a glacial pace but perhaps this is just our mis-perception as there isn’t a canonical source for your feature roadmap?
I agree, a changelog or Version tracking page would be quite useful, so we know what you have done.
Thank you,
Craig
Ps. Also mentioned in topic
Please do… would be nice to know what, and if, it is being planned for the near future… 2 months down the line neither of my 2 requests have been touched :(
Agreed, it would be nice to no what exactly is at the top of the priority list. Why dont you use something like get satisfaction? Then at least your customers can have a majority vote!
Thanks for the feedback, everybody. Trust me! We’ve got a lot on the go. The best place to find out about new features is on the blog at www.getharvest.com/blog. We’ve got a lot of new features in development and when they’re ready to go, we’ll announce them there. Thanks!
The blog’s most recent post is about South Park. Scroll down a bit, and there’s another post about Baseball. Relevancy issues aside, it’s hardly a development feature list with time frames (even if non-specific or relative!).
Giving us an idea of when changes will come about allows us to plan our business processes accordingly. If you tell me a new feature that addresses a problem we’re working around will be fixed in a specific time frame, then we can plan for that, whatever the time frame is. That’s value for your customers. The blog doesn’t provide that sort of value.
Sorry for the confusion! I didn’t mean to suggest that the blog would provide a development timeline, only that it’s the main source for feature announcements.
We don’t provide specific development timelines or work-in-progress lists for things we’re working on. We consistently roll out high-value features and enhancements in Harvest, but due to the delicate balancing between workload and resources, we can’t offer exact timelines.
But have no fear! We’ve got a lot of great stuff in the works, and we want to see it released as much as you do! Thanks for your patience.
