Quotes

It would be great to be able to setup a quote first, then convert it into an invoice after it’s been approved and turn it into an active project

Avatar

Second that… however, I would like to be able to convert the quote into a project, whether the invoice gets done immediately or not.

Avatar

You can do that with Estimates. Make an estimate, mark it as ‘accepted’ and then you can click ‘convert to invoice’ :)

I prefer the name “Proposal” or “Quote” rather than “Estimate” and you can have this set by going to Estimates / Configure / Translations. Cheers.

I agree. We don’t use the word “estimate”. We use the word “quote”. I’d love to be able to rename this.

Avatar

@Jim You can rename “Estimate” to whatever you prefer, as Josh suggested, under Estimates > Configure > Translations!

@Karen: You’re right! The “Translations” feature would work pretty good for some of my needs. One thing, though: it doesn’t change the way harvest users see this feature – it only changes how our customers see estimates. For example, if I tell one of our engineers to “send a quote” to a customer, I don’t want the Harvest UI to have an “Estimates” tab (I would prefer the tab to be named “Quotes”).

Agree with boonbasedesign and geminithinker: this would be a very useful feature – and this is different from what you’ve referred to Josh – this is converting a quote (with tasks) into a live project to track in Harvest before invoicing.

Cheers
