Notes on PDF invoices

Hi, when I create a PDF invoice, the “Notes” field generally gets moved to far down on a second page, even when there’s plenty of room on the first page — could be I’m doing something weird on my end, but it would be great to have that field more visible to clients.

This is happening to me as well. Bug? Fix?

From what I can tell, it happens if an invoice is too long — I usually add an extra space above and below line items to give them a little breathing room, and I “fixed” the note problem on my last invoice by removing those. Not sure if that’s helpful in isolating the issue, but there it is.

I’m not adding any extra spaces, but as far as I can tell, anything with more than 3 line items is pushing the Notes filed to the 2nd page, despite their still being plenty of room for it on the 1st page. There’s something weird on Harvest’s end that’s making the bottom margin too high I think – my “Notes” are only 3 lines in most cases – and they would definitely fit on the first page of these invoices with plenty of buffer at the bottom if the top and bottom margin were mirrored.

Harvest tries hard to keep the notes section on the same page, sometimes this pushed the section to a new page even if it would have fitted with enough footer margin left. A fix was deployed for this now we are more likely to fit it on one page for short invoices.

Thank you! I just went in and checked one of my invoices that was previously spilling onto 2 pages and a newly generated PDF is, in fact, only 1 page. Thanks for addressing so quickly!
