Is there a Timesheet API?

Avatar

Is there a way to use the API to programmatically interact with timesheets?

For example:

  • list timesheets that are unsubmitted, pending approval, etc.
  • submit and approve timesheets.

Jim,

Sorry, but we do not have an API method to do timesheet approval at this time.

Thanks for the info, Barry. Then, please consider this a feature request :)

Another vote here. We have lots of different managers for different teams. We’d like to submit timesheets for review via email, with email reply acceptance — an API for this seems like the easiest way to roll something out.

Noted @ccorda! Thanks!

I’m very surprised to see that there isn’t even the most basic support for timesheet operations in the API. We’ve touted the availability of Android and iPhone clients as a big feature for our employees, but were embarrassed to find that, while they may enter time via mobile device, they must access Harvest in a web browser to actually submit their timesheets.

Please register a big vote for at least the ability to submit a timesheet via your otherwise excellent API.

I am echoing some of the sentiment expressed in this forum thread. We were ready to make the switch from QuickArrow to Harvest. A key requirement for my team is to be able to manage and account for time. The team loves the overall simplicity of the app however, the mobile component killed their buy-in. Specifically, there is no visibility into past entries from the app. Put another way, the app is really designed for entering time into Harvest – not for full interaction with the application.
